Where Do Your Donation Dollars Go?

2012 WestieMed ExpensesThanks to your generous support, last year was a busy year for WestieMed!

During 2012 WestieMed helped 18 rescued West Highland White Terriers by providing $18,803.65 in financial assistance for their medical care.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of the regional clubs, groups, companies and individual supporters who gave so generously toward the health and welfare of those Westies that WestieMed was able to fund.

The WestieMed Board of Directors takes pride in its ability to carefully protect the generous donations of our supporters.

Last year, 88% of our total expenses was spent on our program services to provide funding for cases of rescued Westies in need of medical care.  This percentage amount well exceeds the standard for charitable accountability.

We are also proud of our ability to review and approve cases as quickly as possible so that the Westies waiting for our help can receive the treatment they need quickly and without unnecessary delay. And we strive to cover as much of the eligible cost of the treatment as possible.

More and more Westies with immediate and serious health needs are coming into rescue around the country and, in the current economic downturn, this situation is only growing worse.

WestieMed cannot fulfill its mission without the continuing support from the public.

We hope you will consider making a donation to WestieMed so we are able to continue to assist all Westies, even the less fortunate ones, regain their health and find their forever homes. We welcome all contributions from one-time donations to ongoing monthly subscriptions and company matching gifts. We greatly need the support of our Westie friends around the country now more than ever.

Due to the high cost of veterinary care and the limited budgets of most rescuers, not all rescued Westies are given an opportunity for restored health and a better life.  Rescuers are often placed in the difficult position of making decisions based solely on available resources.

WestieMed strives to offer financial assistance to rescuers nationwide allowing them to foster, rehabilitate and nurture as many Westies in rescue situations as possible.

WestieMed is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, any other organization or breed club.  It is only through donations made directly to WestieMed that we are able to fulfill our mission of helping rescued Westies in need of medical attention.
